It's now official, the first trailer for GTA 6, the next opus in the Grand Theft Auto series, will be released on December 5, 2023.
Last month, Rockstar Games confirmed through a press release on its official website that the first trailer for the “next opus in the Grand Theft Auto saga” would arrive at the beginning of December. The star-studded firm will keep its word and see us on December 5, 2023, at 3 p.m. for the first trailer for GTA 6.
GTA 6 or “the next opus of GTA” is revealed
As always, Rockstar Games opts for a simple and effective solution. No words, only an image, with a change of banner on social networks and a message on their official website. See you on December 5, 2023, at 3 p.m. to discover GTA 6, or rather, the one that has been called “the next opus in the Grand Theft Auto saga” since its official announcement on February 4, 2022.
Since that day, when Rockstar confirmed the active development of the game, the so-called star firm has never used the name “GTA 6”. Neither to confirm the terrible leaks of September 2022 nor to announce the game's first trailer on November 8.
For this announcement and the date of December 5, Rockstar once again goes out of its way, not revealing the logo or the title of the game. We will therefore have to wait until next week to find out for sure. GTA 6? Or just GTA? Or another title? The answer in four short days from now on.
In any case, this is the first time that Rockstar has maintained such mystery around the title of its next game. With GTA 5 in 2011, the name and logo of the game were directly revealed before the trailer. It was the same with Red Dead Redemption II in 2016 and for all the other games from the star company.
The other important element of this announcement is that we still do not know the name of the game. Out of habit, we tend to call it Grand Theft Auto 6, but we are not safe from an episode with a title. As a reminder, in the past, we were treated to game names like Grand Theft Auto: San Andreas or Grand Theft Auto: Vice City. Moreover, speaking of the latter, the image which accompanies the date of this meeting presents palm trees and birds, all against a background of the setting sun. This can clearly recall the palm trees of Miami Beach from which Vice City is very obviously inspired. So, we can expect that the action of this new GTA will take place in Vice City, at least that's what the clues suggest. In any case, one thing is certain, see you Tuesday at 3 p.m. for an announcement that could be historic.
It is therefore almost certain that this secret hides something. Hoping it's a nice surprise.
